      We suspect that the legacy went to these gentlemen as the trustees of a trust set up by him of which Arthur WIlliam Howse (no relation) and his daughter were trustees from 1904 thru 1945.

      White's directory also mentions that Mr Howes endowed the building of a school and school master's house in 1849
