Robert Howse, b1818 of Winchcombe

Post by mardler »

Robert Howse was a butcher from the Cotswold village of Winchcombe, who ended up in Wolverhampton in Staffordshire. His marriage certificate says his father was John Howes (remember: spelling doesn't matter a lot this long ago - see also below). We can't track Richard's baptism record, nor who his father was. Can you?

Robert's record has a lot more details on him here:

Given that there was a John Howse/House/Howes in Cheltenham who was a butcher, whose wife was from Winchcombe and whose oldest known child was born and baptized in Winchcombe, it seems very likely that it was him, but we have no connecting evidence!

Can you find it?
