Downloading a GEDCOM file

Post by mardler »

GEDCOM files are the standard way of exchanging family tree information. You have to be registered to download information from the site. You can copy by hand if you want but it will take time!

Select any individual in the file and go to that individual's page by whatever route you want.

At that page, there will be a row of icons across the top as follows: Individual, Ancestors, Descendents, Relationship, Timeline, GEDCOM.
Select GEDCOM, pick Ancestors or Descendents and select the number of generations you want, up to 8 max. (Ask if you need more)
Have fun
