- In her will Eleanor refers to her brothers:
- William – baptized 20/5/1593 at Latton son of Richard Townsend
- Thomas – baptized 2/5/1597 at Latton son of Richard Townsend
- Edward – for whom we cannot find a baptismal record.
We have also found a daughter, name possibly Edith or Judith, baptized xx/12/1594 daughter of Richard Townsend.

About Richard, his will is as follows:
Richard’s will “Richard Townsend of Hatherop Husbandman” is dated 30/7/1633 (GRO Will No 33 Ref:
22157).
The bequests are:

To my son John
To my son Henry
To my son Richard
To my son Edmund (sometimes Edward)
To my daughter Margaret Townsend
To my daughter Edith Ebsworth ** see my email dated 30/4/2018
To my daughter Elnor Bedford
To my son Thomas
To my wife Margaret Townsend (sole executrix)
John Bedford and John Ebsworth are overseers.
The point of all this is to demonstrate that Eleanor was married to a Mr Bedford before John Howse
Indeed, Eleanor's brother John, left money to (among others) his sister "Ellinor, now the wife of John Howse"
