In the name of God, Amen
I do declare this to be the .... Will and Testament of me, Sarah Howes, widow of Northchurch in the county of Hertford being of sound memory mind and understanding at the time want my funderal expenses and the debts I may owe at the time of my decease are paid. I do give bequeath and devise to my dear son George Herbst Howes late Miller of Valentine Place Southwark in the county of Surrey now residing in the Isle of Jersey tem pounds per annum in the long annuities being part of a larger sum of money vested by me and in my name in the Government Stock of Long Annuities payable at the Bank of England And I likewise give bequeath and devise to my dear daughter Martha Eastwood wife of William Eastwood auctioneer and appraiser of Fort Street in the City of London ten pounds per annum in the Long Annuities being also part of a larger sum of money vested by me and in my name in the Government Stock of Long Annuities payable at the Bank of England and I do likewise give, bequeath and devise to my dear and timid? daughter Margaret Howes who is now residing with me at Northchurch in the county of Hertford whatever other money or property I may be possessed of at the time of my decease that may have been vested by me in the Government Stock of Long Annuities or in any other security or securities for my use and benefit And I also give bequeath and devise to my before mentioned daughter Margaret Howes all my household furniture plate linen china books paintings drawings prints and pictures of every description and I do nominate and appoint my aforesaid named daughter Margaret Howes my residuary legatee and sole executor of this my Will and Testament which I declare to be written by myself and with my own hand this nineteenth day of December one thousand eight hundred and forty eight In witness I set my hand and seal Sarah Howes

Appeared personally: Maria Graham of Northchurch in the county of Hertford, spinster and made oath she is one of the subscriber witnesses to the last Will and Testament of Sarah Howes, late of Northchurch in the county of Hertford widow deceased bearing date the nineteenth December 1848 and now hereunto annexed.
and she further made oath that on the 19th day of December aforesaidthe said testatrix duly executed her said will by signing her name at the foot or end thereof in the presence of this Deponent and of the Reverenc=d Sir John Hobart Gilbert Seymour, Baronet Clerk, the other subscribed witness thereto, both of whom were present at the same time and this Deponent and the said Reverend Sir John Hobart Gilbert Seymour thereupon attested and subscribed the said will in the presence of the said Testatrix and of each other
