  Notes	Could it be that James is related to the Howes family of Redlingfield who seem to have had a long tradition of smithing/metalworking? On Family Search we notice a baptism of a James Barber 8 Oct 1797 at Sweffling, Suffolk (very close to Saxmundham & Benhall) - son of Thomas Barber & Mary Howes. Agewise, it could have been the Thomas Barber elsewhere on the database but obviously not the same Mary Howes. But, James Howes could have been James Barber baptised age 10.
