  Notes	Reminiscence from his son: When my dad died at 84, he was physically in amazing condition. For example - I never beat him at an arm wrestle and I’m 16st and 6ft and he was 5ft 1! Unfortunately, passed away from brain tumour. He left school at 13 and joined the Navy as a cadet. At 16 he joined the Royal Navy at the start of the Second World War. Through war time promotions he became the youngest chief petty officer in the Navy at that time. At only 21 years old. He continue to serve his country for 27 years. After leaving the Navy, he joined the Ferguson television group where he managed the manufacturing plant in Gosport Hampshire. He continue to work there till his retirement. He had an active life, served his country and travelled the world. He was a man with real presence. Something they call gravitas now. When he spoke. People listened. He was a humble man. Very well respected and loved by all.
